We understand that home ownership is a significant goal for many of our members. That’s why we’ve designed tailored initiatives to help our members achieve this milestone through accessible, practical housing solutions. 

Members who have contributed continuously for five years or more can apply for this housing benefit. Our dedicated team will assist members throughout the process, from eligibility checks to ensuring payments are made to authorised suppliers and financial institutions. 

The housing advance is never paid directly into a member’s account. 

What can the advance be used for?

Building a house on customary or state land

Buying a house on state land

Renovating or extending an existing house on customary or state land

Settling outstanding home loans

Equity to finance a home loan

How much can you receive? 

Defined Benefit Scheme

Members who have served less than 20 years – 100% of contribution 

Members who have served for 20 years or more – 80% of their maximum lump sum eligibility 

Accumulation Scheme

100% of their personal (6%) contributions minus interest 

It is important to consider the effects of an advance on your superannuation funds before you apply. 

How to Apply

  1. Complete the MHA application form. 
  2. Submit the form with all supporting documents to the CTSL office.

  3. Our Member Services team will guide you through the approval and disbursement process
